If a giant short faced bear can displace two smilodon populators, I am pretty sure a similar size but more heavily built polar bear can displace the smilodon's as well. It is much better to hunt again than to actually risk one of the cats being killed. However, displacing is different from actually killing.

However, displacing is different from actually killing. i think the bear could displace them but killing them is a bit diffrent and sabertooth tigers being one of the most impressive feilds i am sure two of them can take down a polar bear , however 1 v 1 i favor the polar bear if it is a male. |

I agree with you. However, it is a 2200 pound polar bear running the gaunlet here.

I agree with you. However, it is a 2200 pound polar bear running the gaunlet here. there is only so many cats the bear can fend off , plus they are relativily close in size.  it would be a hard fight for the smilodons though |

There was only one polar bear ever recorded to be 2200 pounds. Most exceptionally large pole bears too heavy to be lifte by helicopters are estimated to be 1760 pounds. Most large male polar bears weigh between 1100 to 1540 pounds. Polar bears from Foxe Basin are in average heavier than the rest of the polar bear population.
